PurposeJob DescriptionThe primary focus of the Business Development role is to drive sales, grow assets under management, build and retain clients to improve the organisations market position. The Business Development personnel will identify business opportunities, negotiate and close business deals, maintain extensive knowledge of the financial market and current market trends, and contribute to the design of the distribution strategy.They will work closely with the product development team, investment team, marketing team and other internal teams to increase sales opportunities. They will represent the voice of the Client internally and share market intelligence and client feedback for the development and enhancement of products and services. The Business Development Staff will play a significant role in the integration of technology.ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for the following:Generates sales by growing assets under managementProspect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business, prepare proposals and make presentationsMaintain the right balance of assets under management across products to achieve the organisation's objectivesIncrease Client’s wallet share by marketing an array of products and services that meet Client needsExpand and enhance the distribution strategy both in existing and new marketsConduct research to identify new markets and customers' needsDevelop and sponsor initiatives that will drive increased revenues and profitability in line with the firm's risk appetite and financial objectivesActively participate in product strategy and development in conjunction with Product Management and Corporate StrategyCultivate collaboration and knowledge sharing amongst team and partnersUnderstand and ensure compliance with the relevant regulatory body's rules and ensure effective and timely resolution of any audit, compliance, or control issues arisingAct with integrity; due skill, care, and diligenceQualifications And ExperienceA Bachelor’s Degree in an Arts or Science or related technical fieldsPost graduate qualification in Banking related discipline, Finance, and Management; or MBA will be advantageousExperience distributing Mutual Funds, Structured Products and other asset management productsRegistration with Nigeria’s Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) as a Sponsored Individual is desirableMinimum of 5 to 8 years’ experience in asset management or similar environmentTechnical SkillsStrong knowledge of asset managementFixed income solutions and credit knowledgeEquity and Multi-Asset solutionsBroad market knowledgeFinancial advisory and wealth managementGeneral CompetenciesEntrepreneur mindsetExcellent presentation, written, and oral communication skillsStrong interpersonal and networking skillsAnalytical and problem-solving skillsInformation analysis and managementProactive and flexibleCustomer focus (internal and external customers)#RMB#PostJob DetailsTake note that applications will not be accepted on the below date and onwards, kindly submit applications ahead of the closing date indicated below.12/12/25All appointments will be made in line with FirstRand Group’s Employment Equity plan.
