We're proud that our core values of PASSION, CARE, IMAGINATION, and TRUST define the way we carry out our work across all of our exhibitions and conferences.If you share our values and want to be a part of a successful, dynamic, and creative global business then we want to hear from you.The Opportunity:We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join our Financial Accounting team, offering a broad exposure to financial accounting and a strong foundation for a career in accounting.The role will report to the Senior Finance Manager, working across the Financial Accounting team, supporting and contributing to the success of the department through delivering accurate, timely and robust financial information, serving our internal customers and meeting compliance deadlines.The EMEA Financial Accounting team are responsible for all aspects of financial accounts, excluding the trading P&L and provide exposure to working across the income statement and balance sheet, focusing on areas such as VAT, intercompany, supplier data, cash and bank and central costs.Key Responsibilities:Accounting - Month End & Annual AccountsMonth end preparation of central cost centres for review by the Senior Finance ManagerAttending and contributing to cost centre review meetings where actuals and forecasts are discussedMonth end journals such as cost of sale accruals in conjunction with the Management Accountant teamCompletion of balance sheet reconciliationsPrepare details for the National Statistics Office returns, plus any other returns as requestedPreparation of overseas VAT returns and relevant monthly reconciliations. Reviewing intercompany invoice positions and perform monthly reconciliationsBudgets and ForecastsAssisting the Senior Finance Manager in preparation of the central cost centres budgetsAssisting in the preparation of the year-end capex forecast. Year EndWork with the Financial Reporting team to ensure management and statutory accounting reconciliation, treatment of dividends etcAssistance with the Group financial statement note disclosures such as related parties Assist with the compilation of information to support corporation tax returnsAssist with the compilation of information to support the PSA tax calculationGeneralAssist with verification of new suppliersAssist with ad hoc financial analysis requests as and when requiredCover other areas such as bank reconciliations, payroll, journal postings and other tasksRequirementsKnowledge, Skills & Behaviours:Qualification via AAT or a relevant degree (or equivalent qualification) is essential and consideration will be given for part qualified accountants (CIMA, ACCA or ACA).
