Assistant AccountantReports To: Finance ManagerLocation: Rosebery, NSWWe’re looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our Head Office team. This role will transition accounting functions from outsourced services to in-house, starting with Accounts Receivable and bank processing, and eventually taking on a broader range of responsibilities. You’ll manage AR, assist with AP, support month-end reporting, reconciliations, payroll, and help improve systems and processes across the business.What You’ll NeedStrong experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, and bank reconciliationsExposure to month-end reporting, journals, and balance sheet reconciliationsKnowledge of budgeting, cashflow, forecasting, and regulatory compliance (GST, payroll tax, international sales tax)Familiarity with payroll processing, ABA files, and auditing proceduresUnderstanding of POS and eCommerce systems (Shopify, Indigo 8) and revenue clearing processesProficiency in Xero, Excel, and accounting softwareExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skillsStrong communication, organisation, and collaborative teamwork skillsAbility to identify process improvements and manage multiple prioritiesBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldPrevious retail or fashion accounting experience is a plusCompany DescriptionSIR is a contemporary women’s wear label founded in 2014, known for delivering minimal and simplistic wardrobe essentials alongside feminine silhouettes.
