This role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with Australian tax rules and standards, and delivering exceptional support to both recruitment partners and internal team members.What You'll Be DoingYour key focus will be on delivering exceptional support to our clients (recruitment partners), ensuring compliance, and maintaining accurate financial records. Your responsibilities will include:1. Recruitment Partner Accounting & BookkeepingProcess accounts payable and accounts receivable for multiple recruitment partners, including invoice entry, verification, and payment runs.Perform bank reconciliations and manage petty cash for recruitment partner accounts.Process payroll for recruitment partners, including calculation of wages, superannuation, PAYG withholding, and salary sacrifice arrangements.Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger records for a portfolio of recruitment partners.Manage monthly reconciliations of key balance sheet accounts for recruitment partners.Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS) in accordance with ATO requirements.2. Financial Reporting & ComplianceAssist in the preparation of accurate and timely management reports for recruitment partners, including Profit & Loss statements and Balance Sheets.Support the preparation of year-end financial statements and work papers for tax agents and auditors, if required.Assist with the preparation of Single Touch Payroll (STP) reports and other statutory returns.Help ensure recruitment partner’s compliance with relevant Australian accounting standards, tax laws, and superannuation guarantee obligations.3. Recruitment Partner Service & CommunicationAct as a primary point of contact for a designated list of recruitment partners, building strong, professional relationships.Respond promptly and professionally to recruitment partners enquiries via email and phone.Clearly explain financial information and reports to recruitment partners with varying levels of financial literacy.Identify and communicate opportunities for process improvements or additional services that would benefit the recruitment partner.4. Systems & Process ManagementUtilise a range of accounting software platforms, primarily Xero, with a high degree of proficiency.Maintain well-organised digital recruitment partner files and records in accordance with the organisation’s procedures.Contribute to the efficiency of the team by following established workflows and identifying opportunities for improvement.Ensure all work is completed in line with the firm's quality control and data security standards.5. Team Leadership & DevelopmentProvide guidance, training, and support to junior bookkeepers and outsourced bookkeeping staff.Assist in managing workflow and reviewing the work of junior team members to ensure accuracy and quality.What We're Looking ForA formal qualification in Accounting or Bookkeeping (e.g., Degree or Diploma).2+ years of experience in a public practice or accounting firm environment.Demonstrated, hands-on experience with:Preparing and lodging BAS/IAS.Performing bank reconciliations.End-to-end payroll processing.Managing accounts payable and receivable.High proficiency with the Xero suite is highly favourable, including Xero Practice Manager, Xero Workpapers, and Xero Tax.A solid understanding of Australian payroll, tax, and superannuation regulations.Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong client relationships.Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.What We OfferAt xrecruiter, we are committed to providing a rewarding and fulfilling work experience.
