Assistant Controller

AWC specializes in providing integrated water, wastewater treatment plants and many other specialized industrial packaged solutions. We offer clients advanced in-house engineering & design with 3D modeling, piloting, fabrication and machining, in-house control panel shop, and a full range of field services, allowing us to provide turn-key solutions.We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Controller to join our finance team. This role plays a key part in supporting financial planning and analysis activities, ensuring accurate reporting, insightful analysis, and strong collaboration across departments. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of financial statements, budgeting, and forecasting, and enjoys turning data into meaningful business insights.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee day-to-day accounting operations (AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations)Assist with the timely, complete, and accurate preparation of financial statements and management reportsPerform variance analysis between actuals and budgets, clearly identifying and communicating key driversSupport the budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management processesDevelop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to track KPIs and improve visibility across the businessReview and reconcile foreign exchange transactions and support hedge accounting documentation in accordance with ASPE standardsAssist with year-end process and prepare supporting documentationEnsure compliance with financial regulations, tax requirements, and applicable accounting standardsPlay a key role in the evaluation, implementation, and setup of a new ERP system, ensuring accurate data migration, efficient process design, and improved financial reportingCollaborate effectively with the finance team and other business stakeholders to support strategic decision-makingRequirementsCPA designation or equivalent experienceMust have prior public practice (audit or assurance) experience, with industry experience in manufacturing and/or construction considered a strong assetA "hands-on" professional who leads by example and motivates individuals at all levels to strive for success and excellenceExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong understanding of financial reporting requirementsBenefitsIndustry Leading Compensation Packages:  AWC has developed a competitive compensation package for each position that rewards employees for hard work and results.
