Through initiatives that protect our workers at work, transform careers, manage the cost of living, help with financial resilience and health, and nurture relationships for families, we champion every worker through every touch point as we work towards better wages, welfare, and work prospects.Because Every Worker Matters.The Role Assistant Director (Communications)The Assistant Director will handle all press and publicity matters for NTUC’s leadership, including traditional media, social media, as well as other forms of public communications.Responsibilities The Assistant Director will play a crucial role in shaping the public image of NTUC leadership. He/she will work closely with the NTUC leadership, as well as other NTUC departments, to develop robust communication plans for the leadership to ensure that NTUC’s strategic objectives are met.The Assistant Director will work closely with the functional teams within NTUC Communication Team to provide support to NTUC leadership in their public communications, including staffing leadership at events, drafting speeches, media responses, press conferences, social media communications, and ground engagement.The Assistant Director would need to foster strong relationship with media partners, public servants and other key stakeholders, cultivating trust and narratives framing with various media outlets, and responsiveness in handling emergencies.RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Political Science, or related fields.At least 8 years of relevant experience in journalism, public relations and strategic communications will be essential.Strong in articulation, critical thinking, writing skill and public speaking abilitiesAbility to address the public confidently, high adaptability to crisis management, agility in manoeuvring changing situations and priorities is crucialPolitical acumen in understanding complex landscape and anticipating shifts.Strong audience engagement and being social media savvy and digitally competent to track media sentiment/ impact.Highly analytical, results-driven and able to react well to deadlinesOther InformationEstab: PermanentJob Type: Full-timeWork Location: One Marina BoulevardOnly shortlisted candidates will be notified.
