Part-time (flexible 0.6 FTE)Office in Sydney CBD (flexible work arrangements/location may be negotiated for the right candidate)Permanent ongoingAbout YouYou are:a self-startera team playerorganisedable to work autonomouslyYou Haveexcellent communication skillsattention to detailan ability to work with people at all levels including internal and external stakeholdersan ability to work well in a small team, and independently when requiredstrong administrative skillsan ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and manage a range of tasks in a changing work environmenta commitment to professional client/member servicea willingness to work on tasks at all levels from sending receipts, undertaking mail outs to developing and presenting recommendations to the Boarda proven track record of working in the association or not-for-profit sector, ideally in a healthcare related industrya desire to learn and develop the assistant role with a view to progressing to a leadership role within the organisation.The PositionThe position is for an Assistant Executive Officer or Administrative Officer to work within a team that manages a membership-based medical and scientific society with members who specialise in the care of patients with neurological conditions.The role will be based within a team that manages all facets of day-to-day administration of this society and includespreparation of board papersminute takingfinancial managementdatabase and website managementelectronic and printed membership communicationsdrafting correspondenceassisting with a number of committeescoordinating hospital and supervisor accreditationYou will assist withthe Annual Scientific Meeting and Annual General Meeting and be part of the administrative team responsible for the overall organisational management, implementation of Board-directed strategic actions and driving operational success.the organisation of education and training workshops and accreditation of hospital training positionsthe administration process for the selection and recruitment of trainees into the Neurology Advanced Training Program of the RACP.The position reports directly to the Executive Officer of the Australian & New Zealand Association of Neurologists (ANZAN), and ultimately to the President, Executive and Board of ANZAN.About ANZANThe Australian & New Zealand Association of Neurologists (ANZAN) is a public company limited by guarantee. It is a specialist medical society with a professional membership of medical graduates, health professionals and scientists interested in neurological conditions. It is the national voice for health professionals working in the field of neurology.Key selection criteriaTertiary qualification in business administration or related discipline, or relevant professional experience.Highly developed written communication skills.Demonstrated process improvement skills, ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships.Excellent customer service skills and experience in assisting to coordinate professional meetings.Ability to work autonomouslyHigh-level organisational skills, including managing work deadlines and managing information.Analytical problem solving and a keen interest to evolve processes.High level computer literacy skills with proficiency in MS Office Suite, calendar management and capacity to quickly develop competency using other software as required.A level of financial understanding including budget management.An appreciation and ability to develop an understanding of legal and financial obligations under the Constitution and regulatory obligations.Be available for meetings outside normal business hours when required, including occasional weekend workshops.Must be an excellent communicator, dependable, reliable, trustworthy and honest.Must be available to travel to meetings as required.Eligibility to work in Australia (sponsorship not available).Desirable RequirementsA strong administrative background with the ability to work on tasks at all levels.A previous role in a professional member-based association and/or not-for-profit.An understanding of medical and scientific terminology.Preferably located in Sydney, NSW.An outstanding applicant who may not meet all the key selection criteria but has strong administrative skills with a keen interest and desire to become an association professional may be considered.How To ApplyANZAN is committed to equal opportunities in employment and embrace diversity and inclusion in its workforce.
