Job Description

Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site role for an Assistant Manager - Credit Control, located in Colombo. The role involves overseeing credit control processes, managing debtor accounts, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts. The Assistant Manager will monitor credit limits, assess financial risks, and collaborate with stakeholders to minimize credit exposure. Responsibilities also include analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and implementing strategies to improve credit control efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesAssess the creditworthiness of clients, resellers, and partners, define credit policies, set appropriate credit limits, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations in UAE & India.Oversee timely invoicing, payment collections, and implement strategies to reduce outstanding debt while improving Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).Analyze financial statements, customer payment patterns, and identify high-risk customers to mitigate potential losses.Handle credit-related disputes professionally, negotiate payment terms, and coordinate with customers, banks, auditors, and legal teams to secure timely settlements.Prepare cash flow forecasts, aging reports, and other credit-related reports for management to support informed financial decisions.Work closely with sales, finance, and operations teams to balance revenue growth with credit risk, streamline credit control processes, and ensure smooth operations.Lead a team of credit controllers and collections officers, provide mentorship, train staff on best practices, and set performance KPIs to ensure adherence to company policies.Leverage ERP software (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and financial tools like Zoho, Tally, QuickBooks, as well as AI-based credit risk assessment tools for efficient credit management.Key RequirementsStrong expertise in Credit Control and Credit ManagementHands-on experience with Debt Collection and Finance operationsProven Analytical Skills for financial risk assessment and strategic decision-makingExcellent organizational and problem-solving skillsBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related fieldProfessional certifications such as ACCA, CIMA, or CFA are a plusFamiliarity with financial software tools and reporting systems
