Job Summary:The Assistant Finance Manager is responsible for supporting the financial integrity and operational efficiency of the organization by supervising daily accounting functions and leading the month-end and year-end closing processes in compliance with IFRS and internal policies. This role oversees the review and authorization of financial transactions, reconciliations of bank and vendor accounts, and ensures accurate and timely financial reporting. The Assistant Finance Manager plays a key role in managing cash flow, monitoring expenditures, payroll, and employee settlements, while also assisting in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Additionally, the position requires regular liaison with auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and timely submissions. A strong focus on accuracy, analytical insight, and confidentiality is essential for success in this role.Key Responsibilities:Supervise and oversee the day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping functions to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.Lead the month end and year end closing processes, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards (IFRS) and internal policies.Review and authorize invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, and journal entries; monitor accounts receivable and payable, including aging analysis and reconciliations with counterparties.Oversee bank account reconciliations, customer and vendor account reconciliations, cash flow management, and maintain accurate accounting records.Prepare and review periodic financial reports (monthly, quarterly, yearly), highlighting variances, trends, and key financial metrics.Monitor and manage organizational expenditures, payroll, staff benefits, and final settlements, ensuring cost control and compliance with internal policies.Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, banks, and regulatory authorities, ensuring timely submissions and resolving any financial discrepancies.Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities; track actual performance against budget and identify improvement areas.Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and accuracy of all financial data and uphold the organization's compliance standards.Ad-hoc tasks/projects assigned by Finance Director/CFO.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree or professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, or CA preferred).Minimum of 5 -7 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).Experience in managing internal and external audits.Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, M.S. Dynamics, or similar ERP systems).Advanced MS Excel skills and familiarity with finance modeling and analysis tools.In-depth understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
