Assistant Manager – New Product Design & Development and Engineering

Backed by Aeroflex’s technical expertise and EPG Innovation Center’s advanced polymer lab, APS serves clients in the automotive and industrial sectors with precision-engineered EPDM, CR, TPE, and PVC components.Job Overview:Responsible for product design and development in accordance with company standards and customer requirements, while overseeing engineering and maintenance operations to support the business objectives of the group.Key Responsibilities1. Product Design & DevelopmentStudy new product information and design products, equipment, and production processes. Evaluate manufacturing feasibility from trial stage through mass production.Review and verify drawings to ensure alignment with customer requirements.Collaborate with the production team to review and test processes for new product introduction.Work with the Quality Control team to review and test product samples to ensure quality standards.Manage team operations, including performance evaluation and capability development.2. Engineering & MaintenancePlan and control machinery maintenance activities, including calibration of measuring instruments.Analyze root causes of machine, mold, and production equipment failures to develop preventive maintenance plans and avoid recurrence.Maintain and control machinery records, inspection documentation, and preventive maintenance (PM) plans.Coordinate maintenance work as well as the installation or procurement of new machinery.Promote workplace safety and implement accident prevention measures.3. Other ResponsibilitiesPrepare documentation and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards.Promote productivity improvement initiatives such as 5S, Safety, and employee suggestion programs.Prepare documentation related to quality systems such as APQP, PPAP, or IATF 16949 / TS16949.QualificationsStrong leadership and team management capabilities.Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.At least 5 years of relevant work experience. Experience in a supervisory role in Tooling, Drawing, Rubber Mold Design, or Injection Mold Design will be an advantage.Proficient in computer applications and design software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks, with knowledge of statistical analysis.Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail in quality control.Skills in product and packaging design and development.Ability to improve work processes and solve problems effectively.Knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical systems, and machinery/equipment.Ability to read and understand English technical documents.Knowledge of mold design principles and rubber manufacturing processes will be an advantage.Knowledge and ability to prepare documentation related to quality systems such as APQP, PPAP, or IATF 16949 / TS16949.
