Franklin Templeton is seeking a motivated and results-oriented Assistant Manager of Operations to join its newly established office in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The Assistant Manager of Operations will be an integral part of a global team, focusing on managing and coordinating the financial reporting, corporate accounting, and daily operational processes for Franklin Templeton business operations in Uzbekistan. This role involves overall assisting local operational activities, including internal/external reporting, and portfolio valuation/NAV calculations in collaboration with local operations team.
Additionally, the Assistant Manager of Operations will handle corporate accounting and finance functions for Uzbekistan. What are the ongoing responsibilities of this position?Financial ReportingAssist business operation with a comprehensive understanding of the fund, including financial reporting (IFRS), valuation, regulatory reporting (local & European), and distributions. Coordinate service providers to ensure timely, accurate execution of deliverables, collaborating with global production teams. Collaborate globally with Fund Administration management and departments like Treasury, Accounting, Fund Tax to ensure best practices. Act as a responsible person for financial accounting and tax reporting, partnering with other business units to achieve fund objectives.
Work with service providers to identify new disclosure requirements and draft necessary accounting policies. Coordinate and support internal and external audits. Ensure the fund’s reporting complies with all relevant local and global regulations. Assist in the preparation of internal and external reports, including regulatory reporting. Take part in management reports including budgeting procedures, corporate reports. Operational ActivitiesEnsure the accurate maintenance of the Fund's general ledger by the Fund Service Provider. Assist in the Fund’s budget and expense processes.
Take part in the preparation of cash flow forecasts and P&L projections, working with portfolio management and other teams to ensure correct assumptions. Coordinate with service providers and custodians to ensure timely release of NAV information for regulatory and internal reporting. Assist in resolving complex accounting issues within the fund. Understand and apply local and international dealing and settlement processes. Ensure all relevant business contracts are reviewed. Customer Service & partnering with Business PartnersCollaborate with global partners within the FT group to cultivate effective relationships. Collaborate with service providers, auditors, custodians, and regulators.
Manage customer expectations and resolve conflicts effectively. Ensure all internal and external client deadlines are met. Corporate AccountingLead the resolution of local operational and system issues, ensuring alignment with global standards. Collaborate with centralized finance teams on accounting, taxation, and treasury operations. Oversee local accounting operations and the month-end closing process. Conduct monthly reviews of financial and work papers. Ensure financial records comply with IFRS and local regulatory requirements. Ensure adherence to the company’s Internal Control Standards, Accounting Standards, and Policies. Coordinate with external auditors to meet audit requirements.
Work with external advisors to ensure compliance with direct and indirect tax regulations. Assist with corporate treasury tasks, including bank account operations, funding, and remittances. Other Financial/management ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain relationships with business unit and regional managers. Foster relationships with external advisors to ensure optimal service delivery. What qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business with relevant coursework. Accounting certification (CA, ACCA, CPA, or DipIFR) required. Minimum 5 years of financial accounting and reporting experience. Strong knowledge of tax requirements, financial instruments, and IFRS.
Experience in both domestic and international investment markets preferred. Proficient in financial systems and reporting software. Ability to stay current on industry regulations and best practices. Ability to work independently and remotely. Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills across global teams. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Skilled in conflict resolution and process improvement. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. Ability to escalate complex issues to senior management as neededStrong communication skills in English, Russian, and Uzbek at a business level. Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and Microsoft Office. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
