Demonstrated ability to work effectively in emergency or crisis situations. Experience in engaging students and managing a variety of safe and fun student focused events and activities. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to achieve a range of tasks under competing demands, within agreed timeframes. Experience in the tertiary sector would be a distinct advantage.This exciting role will suit people from varied backgrounds who are passionate about working with young adults. Candidates with knowledge and appreciation of cultural issues and knowledge of Tikanga Māori and / or knowledge in providing positive opportunities for Tauira Māori, will be especially welcome.Further details | PūrokoThe position is live-in and requires a high level of commitment, including being rostered on-call. Accommodation is provided within the College and the total remuneration package for this position includes full compensation for all accommodation costs.This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week), permanent position based in Ōtepoti, Dunedin.The appointment range is $69,931 to $74,609 per annum. Top of the range is $80,285.From time to time, you may be deployed to different colleges to suit the needs of the Division. This may include leave coverage, conference support, assistance with summer business such as “Hands on Otago”, Summer School, etc.The University is committed to meeting its obligations under the Children’s Act 2014 and the Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021.
