About The RoleThis role is required to deliver the implementation and maintenance of application system needs under Digital Technology. Manage a team of developers in SG and technology centers in Batam, Indonesia and KL, Malaysia. Responsible and accountable for the smooth running of systems within the limits of requirements, specifications, costs and timelines.What You’ll Be DoingSuccessful delivery of large-scale digital technology initiatives/projects as per agreed timelines and planned budget.Coach and grow the teams to manage the different streams of work through a team of professionals based in SG (2 paxs) / KL, Malaysia (5 paxs) /Batam, Indonesia (25 paxs).Hands-on support application delivery teams and able to resolve technical difficulties for the various teamWork with various internal teams to complete solution selection, architecture design, vendor onboarding etc.Define/Find proper digital technology solution, implement digital engineering best practices and ensure the technology stack is up to dateOversee application development following SDLC and security standards, as well as regulatory requirementsThrough collaboration, build a good understanding of the insurance business processes for the teamManage stakeholders effectively for business requirements and expectationsTo ensure Fair dealing related work requests are fulfilled to help businesses meet their Fair objectives.Performs other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor to meet operational and/or other requirements.What You Should HaveDegree in IT or equivalentMinimum 15 years of IT work experience in Life insurance applications development, testing, and data management. Worked for both insurance companies and IT companies would be strong plusProven working experience in managing large-scale applications, data migration and help in deliver to cloud-native and hybrid environmentsGood knowledge of programming languages Java, SQL scripting, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript etc. Knowledge in iOS/Android Native, React Native is a plusDeep understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and best practicesExperience building teams across locations by getting the right personnel, coaching them that can deploy solutions in different locationsWorking knowledge of the general technology landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologiesStrong problem-solving skills and debugging skills. Willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job doneExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Good motivator & facilitator. Demonstrated success in stakeholder management and able to interact with diverse stakeholders to present solutions, plans etc.Ability to work under pressure with minimal guidance and have strong sense of ownershipPositive attitude and willingness to share and learnSelf-motivated, self-organizing and possess drive and lead by exampleFamiliarity with risk management and quality assurance controlLeadership skill with ability to drive digital technology teams with proven ability to coach and develop others.
