Role OverviewWe are seeking an Associate Director, Learning & Development to be a critical driver in realizing FairPrice Group’s ambition of becoming a learning organization. Reporting to the Head of L&OD, this role will focus on managing the execution, design, and continuous improvement of our core learning initiatives, with a particular emphasis on digital learning technologies and frontline capability development.The Associate Director will ensure the efficient delivery of programs aimed at cultivating a growth mindset, strengthening core management skills, and embedding essential customer-centric, digital fluency, and operational excellence skills, especially across our high-volume frontline workforce. This role requires a blend of strategic support and hands-on operational excellence to manage key projects, vendor relationships, and the utilization of our digital learning ecosystem.Key Responsibilities1. Learning Program Management & ExecutionProgram Implementation: Manage the end-to-end execution of large-scale, tiered leadership and capability programs, ensuring seamless delivery, high engagement, and alignment with defined outcomes.Digital Ecosystem Management: Serve as the product owner or key administrator for the digital learning ecosystem (e.g., LMS or LXP), ensuring optimal functionality, data integrity, content curation, and user adoption across the Group.Data-Driven L&D: Support the Head of L&OD in embedding AI and data analytics into learning needs assessments, content personalization, and program impact measurement, focusing on data collection and reporting.Measurement & Evaluation: Implement and manage the framework for tracking the ROI of L&D investments, course completion rates, and post-program application of skills.2. Frontline Capability DevelopmentCurriculum Design & Delivery: Take the lead in designing, developing, and deploying structured learning pathways for frontline associates, supervisors, and store/outlet managers, covering customer service, digital readiness, and operational compliance.Operational Integration: Partner directly with business unit managers and HRBPs to embed learning activities into daily retail operations, ensuring practical application that drives measurable improvements in customer experience and productivity.Career Pathways: Manage initiatives that support the upward mobility and internal career growth of frontline employees into future leadership and specialist roles.3. Vendor & Stakeholder ManagementVendor Management: Manage day-to-day relationships, project timelines, quality control, and administration with assigned learning vendors and technology partners for specific programs.Content Co-Creation: Collaborate with internal subject matter experts and external partners to co-create and curate high-quality, relevant, and engaging learning content suitable for a mixed workforce (frontline and corporate).Internal Partnership: Serve as the primary L&D liaison for assigned corporate functions or business units, translating their tactical workforce needs into ready-to-deploy learning solutions.4. Cultural & Organizational SupportCulture Embedding: Manage internal communications and initiatives that actively champion a Growth Mindset and continuous learning culture across all parts of the organization.OD Support: Execute specific organizational development initiatives, such as change management deployments or implementation of capability frameworks, as directed by the Head of L&OD.Innovation Deployment: Pilot and deploy specific emerging technology solutions (e.g., gamification modules, micro-learning apps, or specific Generative AI content tools) to enhance workforce skills and engagement.Qualifications & ExperienceA minimum of 8-10 years of dedicated experience in Learning & Development, HR, or Organizational Development roles, preferably within a large, multi-faceted organization.Proven track record in designing, implementing, and managing large-scale learning programs, especially for a significant frontline or blue-collar workforce.Demonstrated experience in managing digital learning platforms (LMS/LXP) and utilizing technology for scalable content delivery and learner engagement.Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple vendors, timelines, and budgets simultaneously.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence peers and internal partners effectively.Experience in retail or customer-facing industries is highly advantageous.
