When considering candidates, we look for scientific and business professionals who are highly motivated, collaborative, and most importantly, share our passionate interest in fighting cancer.General DescriptionWe are looking for a senior finance professional to lead the European Accounting Record-to-Report (RTR) team joining our newly established Global Business Service(GBS) centre in Warsaw, Poland.This is a key position for an experienced, ambitious finance professional who is motivated to contribute to developing and growing the GBS functions to centralize Ex-China global accounting operations to support BeOne’s RTR function. This position will lead the RTR activities in our SAP FICO processes across our Swiss principal structure including our European and New Market geographies encompassing over 30 SAP entities directly overseeing the GBS-Poland controllership function providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure operational excellence. The ideal candidate will be ready to take the lead to provide a blend of strategic leadership, oversight, and guidance while also having a roll-up-the sleeves, collaborative leadership style working directly with the team to focus on strategic-process enhancements and continuous improvement across all regions and entities.We are looking for someone who is proactive, brings strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and is comfortable working in a maturing and high-growth environment to build structures and put repeatable processes in place. This includes bringing future entities (e.g. LATAM) into the scope of the GBS Controllership to further centralize/globalize RTR activities. This leader will also be pivotal in helping drive the long-term functional controllership transformation strategy to centralize functional controllership at the GBS centre and working towards evolving the global, integrated U.S. GAAP external audit from a US/corporate-centered approach to a shared-services approach.Strong communication, cultural sensitivity, and adaptiveness are required to coordinate the activities across all the regional RTR functions collaborating with functional stakeholders such as FP&A, Tax, Procure-to-Pay, Treasury, Legal, HR, and Distribution at a global level. The ideal candidate will have accounting expertise across the European landscape including transfer pricing, U.S. GAAP and international accounting standards knowledge and experience managing cross-border financial operations.Overall, this person will be an instrumental and authentic leader ready to inspire and support a diverse team in a hybrid working model while being the bridge between Corporate and Global strategy and day-to-day execution of GBS Controllership. They embody the traits of a well-rounded, versatile leader that leads by example, fosters open dialogue and debate, as well as will come alongside their team to work together.This role will be hybrid work pattern, 3 days per week in our Warsaw office with 2 days remote.Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Compliance:Oversee the RTR operations for all European and New Market entities, ensuring timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.Ensure compliance with USGAAP, International Financial Reporting Standards (where applicable), as well as local GAAP requirements in European jurisdictions.Collaborate with external auditors and local accounting firms to manage statutory audits, tax filings, and compliance matters. Manage accounting outsourcing partner relationships.With the support of Legal, manage regulatory filings and statutory reporting, ensuring that all financial statements meet the legal requirements of the jurisdictions in which the company operates.Collaborate with Technical Accounting team to review collaboration and Gross to Net agreements ensuring that they are properly accounted for. Internal Controls & Risk Management:Maintain oversight and ownership over ensuring we have robust internal controls across all European and New Market entities, ensuring the integrity of financial data, compliance with company policies, and prevention of fraud or financial misstatements.Maintain oversight and ownership to ensure all assigned SOX controls within the GBS Controllership function are designed, implemented, and operating effectively. When or if necessary, step in to serve as an additional reviewer/approver to ensure proper SODs and SOX complianceContinuously assess and improve risk management practices within the accounting function, identifying and mitigating financial risks.Implement best practices that can withstand external and internal audit scrutiny for all European and New Market entities. Cross functional collaborations:Collaborate with country finance directors directly to ensure consistency in financial reporting, while addressing local accounting and tax regulations specific to each jurisdiction.Partner with the tax department to support managing and optimizing the European tax structure.Coordinate closely with the legal and tax team to ensure that intercompany agreements, transfer pricing policies, and any cross-border transactions comply with local and international laws.Collaborate with the treasury team and country finance directors to ensure efficient cash management, currency exchange management, and financing for hub and spoke structure.Serve as a key liaison between the GBS RTR team and other functions such as GTS (Global Technology Solutions, Consolidations/Technical Accounting team, Procure-to-Pay GBS Team, Internal Controls Team, Corporate Controlling, and all others providing appropriate support as required Process Improvement & Systems IntegrationOversee and direct the GBS Controllership Road map of change management including standardization, IT-implementations, integrations, and upgrades, and adoption of process improvementsIdentify and implement opportunities to standardize and streamline accounting processes across European and New Market entities, driving improvements in efficiency and accuracy.Identify opportunities for process optimization and technology adoption to reduce manual accounting efforts and enhance data accuracy and decision-making.
