Associate Manager – Backup & Infrastructure

Position Summary: This role is responsible for managing and optimizing the organization’s enterprise backup systems to ensure data integrity, recoverability, and compliance. It also involves supporting key IT infrastructure areas, including Windows Server, Storage and VMware infrastructure. It plays a vital part in ensuring system reliability, business continuity, and data security. The role supports both IT operations and infrastructure services. Job Responsibilities: This role is responsible for managing and maintaining enterprise backup systems. Key duties include scheduling and testing backups, troubleshooting failures, and ensuring compliance with company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and disaster recovery protocols.

In addition, the position supports the administration of Windows Servers and VMware infrastructure by managing hosts and virtual machines, monitoring system performance, and applying necessary updates. The role also includes applying security patches and coordinating vulnerability remediation efforts with the security team. Furthermore, the position provides basic support for CCTV server hardware, ensuring system functionality and adherence to storage compliance standards. The role focuses on shaping IT infrastructure strategies related to backup and data protection. It involves assessing and recommending solutions to strengthen system resilience and meet business continuity and disaster recovery requirements.

The role also supports long-term IT planning by identifying opportunities to optimize and improve infrastructure efficiency. Required Experience, Knowledge & Skills: 7+ years of experience as a System Administrator, with a strong focus on backup and infrastructure support. Strong knowledge of backup solutions like Veeam, Veritas, Dell or Commvault. Experience in Windows Server administration and troubleshooting. Experience with VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi is an added advantage. Familiarity with patch management and basic vulnerability remediation. Strong analytical, documentation, and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
