Associate Process Design Engineer/Specialist

Job PurposeUnder supervision, performs a variety of assignments through the application of basic engineering theories, techniques, and practices. In development mode being trained in the utilization of relevant regulations, codes, and industry-standard practices for the control, development, and application of deliverables while gaining exposure to procedures and processes. Intermediate level position following defined processes and precedents to complete assigned tasks with increasing independence specific to an area of specialty. Support the department activities on project execution.Main Scope/Responsibilities Business Development Support:Assists business development activities by maintaining an up to date personal profile and resume database. Builds positive working relationships with external parties such as the customer, suppliers, and contractors. Technical Competencies: Assists and prepares under supervision below:Basis of designP&ID’s: Piping & Instrument DiagramsHeat & material balanceProcess equipment datasheetsEquipment & line listsMaterial selectionDetermination of design conditionsCalculations (relief-valve, control-valve, depressurizing, line-sizing & pressure drop)Cause & effect diagramsVendor info reviewPFD’s: Process Flow Diagrams Check the drawings and documents prepared by the designersMain Scope/Responsibilities (continued) Site Support: Seeks analysis and synthesize process input from operation units, may participate in constructability, operability, and maintainability reviews, and incorporates requirements into engineering/design. Works with site personnel to resolve issues from office and site.May create plans or documents that support construction, testing, commissioning, operations, maintenance, or decommissioning. May provide on-site support for construction, commissioning, or turn over. Other: Assists the lead in discipline-related activitiesAdherence to work instruction, checklist, standard specifications, design basis during the execution of projectsEnsures the project work is covered for vacation and unplanned absences. Responsible for a smooth handover. Ensures discipline technical work and team activities meet all health, safety, environmental, and security requirements.
