The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.Expected Pay ScaleMinimum: $130,000.00 AnnuallyMaximum $145,000.00 AnnuallyJob SummaryThe position plays a critical role in the training of veterinary students by providing expertise in clinical specialties, contributing to clinical science lectures and laboratories, problem-based learning facilitation, and curriculum development. The role also involves engaging in scholarly activities, advancing clinical sciences, and supporting the training of students across all levels of the DVM program. Additionally, the position requires active participation in college and university committees, as well as contributing to institutional governance and curriculum innovation. If applicable, maintaining a California veterinary license and any relevant specialty certifications is also expected.Knowledge, Skills And AbilitiesIndividuals must possess this knowledge, these skills, and abilities, or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.Ability to orally communicate with others. Ability to effectively interact with administration, faculty, staff, students, and outside contacts.Ability to handle detail-oriented assignments and maintain confidentiality.Organizational skills necessary in prioritizing workload and delegating responsibility.Knowledge of educational needs for contemporary veterinary practice.Knowledge and skills in his/her discipline.Demonstrate a commitment to working in an organization that values and promotes humanism.EducationRequired QualificationsAn advanced degree (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (ie, DVM, VMD), PhD, or equivalent degree) in the discipline of expertise is required.Licensure (if Applicable)Actively licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Veterinarian in the state of California preferred.
