Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Associate with 3-5 years of experience in property and development finance to join an established pan-European development finance firm. In this role, you will be a key part of the underwriting team, managing transactions across the lifespan of a Development Finance facility. A successful candidate must be numerically strong, have great attention to detail, and be fluent in both German and English.Key Duties:Lead and coordinate the overall due diligence/underwriting process.Review initial deal information and prepare financial models in accordance with our policies/hurdles to share terms with clients.Produce key underwriting documents, particularly detailed credit applications, with direction from Deal Originators and support from the Deal Execution team.Review professional reports and provide feedback on issues, questions, and comments to professionals with the Head of Credit.Proactively flag issues and potential risks to the Head of Credit and offer solutions to resolve these with minimal impact on clients.Coordinate and lead communication with clients and stakeholders.Attend client meetings and contribute to new business development activities.Contribute to the development of changes, new ideas, and innovation within the wider business.Undertake required admin and updates on internal systems; participate in relevant training and development activities.Carry out business-required ad hoc activities and cross-functional requirements.Required Experience, Skills, and Characteristics:Minimum of 3-5 years of development finance experience and direct underwriting experience in German transactions.Fluent German and English speaker.Experience coordinating with solicitors and reviewing finance/security documents.Strong interest and understanding of the German property sector, with the ability to articulate views and data related to this.Degree educated; further education related to property and real estate is a plus.Ability to build strong relationships with clients and brokers.Excellent mathematical understanding and financial modelling skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Confidence in addressing new situations and willingness to take on challenges.Highly organised, able to prioritise and coordinate tasks efficiently to meet deadlines.Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to work autonomously and as part of a wider team.Team player who deals effectively and openly with colleagues and clients.Proficient in Microsoft Office tools and willing to adopt new internal systems as required.
