Manager- Commercial (Import)Job Description / ResponsibilityJob Context: We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated, and experienced professional to join our Commercial Department as Assistant Manager – Commercial (Import). The incumbent will be responsible for handling all import-related commercial activities, including LC opening, shipment follow-up, customs clearance, documentation, and coordination with suppliers, banks, and C&F agents. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure to ensure smooth and timely import operations.Job Responsibilities:Oversee all import operations for Trading: sourcing, procurement, shipping, customs clearance, and documentation.Ensure compliance with import regulations, customs, bonded zone rulesManage relationships with overseas suppliers, freight forwarders, customs agents, C&F agentsPrepare, review, and manage Letters of Credit (L/C), Bank Guarantees, other bank documentsNegotiate with suppliers on price, terms, shipping & paymentMonitor landed cost, freight, duties, tariffs, and optimize costForecast import requirements aligned with production schedulesCoordinate with procurement, finance, accounts, warehouse, and operationsResolve discrepancies, claims, delays, MOQ, quality issues with suppliers or logisticsPrepare reports, KPIs, budgets, variance analysisEducational RequirementsBachelor of Commerce (BCom) in AccountingProfessional Course on Commercial (Import)Skills Required: Export Import Through LC, Sourcing and Procurement, LC and Bank related functionsExperience Requirements7 to 12 year(s)The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):Trading or Export/Import,Garments,Indenting FirmAdditional Requirements7–10+ years of experience in import / commercial roles (especially in trading)Strong knowledge of customs, bonded warehouses, rules of origin, tax & dutyExperience with international logistics, shipping, air & sea freightGood command over LC, ICC rules, banking instrumentsStrong analytical, negotiation, and leadership skillsProficiency in ERP/TALLY & MS OfficeJob LocationDhaka (Uttara Sector 11)SalaryTk. 50000 - 60000 (Monthly)
