Job Description

Main Duties And ResponsibilitiesI. Support for Laboratory ActivitiesPrepares laboratory materials, equipment, supplies, and specimens as instructed by faculty and based on set guidelines. Assists faculty in preparing and setting up lab materials (e. g. , models, dummies, apparatus). Issues lab supplies and specimens (e. g. , slides, reagents) to students, following approved procedures. Performs cadaver/specimen preservation through cyclic immersion, checking for decay, dissecting and cleaning tissues, and measuring solution mixes. Assists faculty in managing lab sessions and ensuring user safety. Aids in the conduct of lab classes and exams, including timing and ushering students between stations. II.

Management of Laboratory Facilities and ResourcesMaintains physical condition of laboratory facilities, ensuring safety and cleanliness. Monitors utilities (e. g. , water source, air ventilation), room temperature, and humidity. Stores resources properly and ensures compliance with documentation and procurement standards. Conducts cleaning and maintenance of lab equipment using appropriate materials and methods. Performs initial waste disposal procedures for medical waste. Conducts basic maintenance and troubleshooting of lab equipment; coordinates with service providers for repairs. Maintains inventory of supplies and specimens, monitors expiration dates, and recommends procurement. Coordinates with hospitals, organizations, and the Central Purchasing Office for sourcing lab resources.

Prepares daily status reports (e. g. , on equipment use, losses, malfunctions). Records use, loan, and return of lab equipment. Assists in sourcing appropriate lab materials in coordination with faculty and purchasing offices. III. Administrative SupportAssists the Office of the Associate Dean with data processing and clerical tasks. Prepares and submits student attendance reports using data from biometric systems. IV. Other ResponsibilitiesProvides logistical and administrative support for school events (e. g. , opening ceremonies, graduation). Performs other related duties as may be assigned. Minimum QualificationsEducation and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in a science-related course (preferably, Biology or Medical Technology or Public Health)At least 1 year work experienceExperience working in an academic setting is an advantage
