Job Description

Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Inventory to oversee and elevate our inventory management function. This leadership role requires an individual with deep expertise in stock control, distribution, data analysis, and team management, ideally in a retail or FMCG environment. You will lead a team across key inventory functions, including container management, merchandising, stock-takes, expiries, and inter-outlet distribution. Key Responsibilities: 1. Strategic Inventory OversightDevelop and implement robust inventory control systems and procedures. Ensure optimal stock levels are maintained across all outlets and warehouses.

Lead demand forecasting and inventory planning in coordination with commercial and retail teams. 2. Leadership & Team DevelopmentManage and support inventory teams across four units: Stock-take, Expiry, Merchandising, and Container Logistics. Collaborate closely with the Distribution Manager and Data Analyst to monitor product flow and stock accuracy. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. 3. Data & Performance MonitoringAnalyze inventory KPIs such as shrinkage, stock turn, holding costs, and replenishment cycles. Oversee system reporting for transparency and decision-making. Work with IT and analytics teams to enhance system integration and automation.

Investigate root causes of inventory issues flagged by data analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. 4. Logistics & Distribution CoordinationAlign closely with the distribution manager to streamline inbound and outbound product flows. Oversee efficient container unpacking, warehouse organization, and internal transfers. Support the merchandising team to ensure correct product placement based on stock movement data. 5. Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner with commercial and sourcing departments to align supply chain with business needs. Collaborate with retail operations for product range consistency and availability across outlets. Participate in regular leadership meetings to represent inventory-related priorities and improvements. Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field 8+ years’ experience in inventory or supply chain leadership, preferably in retail, FMCG, or wholesale. Proven experience managing cross-functional teams and driving operational improvements. Strong understanding of ERP and inventory management systems. Prior international or expat work experience is highly regarded.
