We're on a mission to responsibly harness the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) — and we're looking for a curious, hands-on AI Technology Senior Analyst who thrives on exploring emerging technologies and empowering others to harness their potentialThis 2-year fixed-term role is about more than just technical insight — it's about bringing people with you. You'll work collaboratively across AUT to trial tools, identify AI opportunities, build capability, and strengthen trust in how we use emerging technologies. Your work will help shape an ethical, future-focused AI culture that reflects AUT's values of tika, pono, and aroha.
Mō te tūranga | About the roleDive deep into emerging AI tools through hands-on experimentation and rapid prototyping. Design and implement practical frameworks to evaluate AI solutions for safety, effectiveness, and fit to enable rapid and responsible adoption. Lead AUT's annual AI maturity assessment and co-create roadmaps with teams to grow readiness and capability. Build relationships with academic and professional teams to identify practical, meaningful AI use cases. Trial tools and run collaborative pilots that assess effectiveness, risk and fit for AUT. Translate technical findings into trusted advice, training resources and engaging presentations.
Partner with ICT and legal experts to support risk identification and mitigation (e. g. , data governance, cybersecurity, research ethics). Stay connected to global AI developments and share insights with AUT's leadership and wider community. Your Background Might Include5-7 years in technology evaluation, product analysis, digital innovation, or related fields. Experience with rapid prototyping, testing methodologies, or technology implementation. Track record of learning new technologies quickly and sharing knowledge with others. Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences. Most importantly: You have the intellectual curiosity and learning agility to master new AI technologies as they emerge, combined with the people skills to help others do the same.
