SummaryWill conduct Medical Disability Examinations (MDE) for veterans who file disability claims for hearing conditions (e.g., hearing loss, tinnitus, balance disorders) through the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) as part of the Compensation and Pension Program. Comprehensive auditory exams will require a thorough hearing assessment, diagnostic testing, and medical opinions but no treatment. Opportunities to assist America’s veterans are available within Loyal Source Clinics throughout the United States.Pay: Base + Monthly incentive = $110,614 -$128,614 a year.Position HighlightsPerforms age-appropriate audiology assessments and examinations for Military Veterans and qualified family members. Each assessment/examination is a minimum of 30 minutesIdentifies, tests, diagnoses, and manages disorders of human hearing, balance, and tinnitusDetermines range, nature and degree of hearing function related to patient’s aural communication needs using electro-acoustic instrumentation, such as pure tone and speech audiometers and acoustic middle ear equipmentMaintains accurate patient records noting appropriate background information, responses and progress.Provides written reports and progress notesIdentifies differential diagnosisPrinciple Duties And ResponsibilitiesComplete diagnostic hearing evaluations on adult age populations, for purposes of Veteran’s disability exams.Input Audiometric data into DBQ format, within 24 hours of exam, for disability rating purposesProvide a full medical record review with medical opinion noted in rationale when warrantedMaintain a flexible working schedule in order to accommodate fluctuations in referral volumes, helping the company meet goals and objectivesMeets credentialing requirements set forth by the VA.Required QualificationsMaster’s degree in Audiology accredited by ACAE, CAA, or ASHAMinimum of 1 year of experienceBLS certification from AHA, ARC, ASHI or willingness to obtainFull, active, unencumbered Audiology license in the USAdditional QualificationsFluency in EMR systems & technologyExperience with Disability Benefits Questionaries with VeteransHolds certificate of clinical competence-Audiology by the American Speech-Language Hearing AssociationAudiology Exam Details*Basic autoscopy*Tympanometry*Acoustic reflexes*Speech audiometry- via recording*Pure tone audiometry*Air + bone conduction*Stenger testing*Wax removal-rarely*No OAE's (oto-acoustic space emissions)About Loyal SourceLoyal Source is an Orlando-based workforce solutions provider dedicated to delivering elite services worldwide, with a focus in government healthcare, technical and support services, engineering, and travel healthcare.
