Job Description
About the Role:We are looking for an Auditor for one of our esteemed client.The Auditor will carry out assurance and auditing activities across the organization, ensuring internal controls, financial reporting and regulatory compliance meet required standards. The candidate must bring prior experience in a Big 4 audit firm and will help enhance the audit framework and controls in a dynamic UAE environment.Key Responsibilities:Plan and conduct audit engagements (internal and/or external) from inception through to completion, including fieldwork, testing of controls, substantive procedures, and reporting of findings.Assess the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls (financial, operational, compliance) and identify control gaps, weaknesses and process improvement opportunities.Prepare audit work-papers, document findings including risk assessments, root-cause analysis, and recommendations to management.Ensure audit reports are issued on a timely basis, with clear, actionable findings and management responses.Coordinate with external auditors, management, business units and the audit committee (or equivalent) as required.Stay up to date with relevant accounting and auditing standards (e.g., IFRS, ISA), UAE regulatory and industry-specific requirements, and best practice in audit and risk management.Assist in the development and improvement of the audit methodology, audit plan, tools and analytics (e.g., data-analytics, automated testing) to enhance audit efficiency and effectiveness.Provide coaching, mentoring and review of junior audit staff (depending on level) to help build a strong audit team.Support ad-hoc investigations or special reviews as directed by senior management.Required Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Professional qualification: e.g., ACCA, CPA, CA, or equivalent.Substantial audit experience within a Big 4 audit firm (or equivalent high-quality audit environment) – e.g., a minimum of 3-5 years (or more depending on level) in a Big 4 in audit practice.Strong knowledge of IFRS and applicable auditing standards (ISA) and UAE regulatory environment.Demonstrated ability to work in team settings, manage deadlines, multi-task and adapt in a dynamic environment.Proficiency with MS Office (especially Excel), audit software/tools, and ERP systems. Experience with data analytics is a plus.UAE experience or exposure is preferred (but not always mandatory).Preferred / Desirable Attributes:Big 4 audit experience in UAE or GCC is an advantage.Experience in a specific industry (e.g., financial services, real-estate, manufacturing) depending on your company’s sector.Skills in data-analytics, automated audit tools (e.g., ACL, IDEA) or continuous auditing frameworks.Change-management mindset: ability to drive improvements in control environment and business processes.Awareness of risk frameworks (e.g., COSO, COBIT) and regulatory frameworks relevant to UAE.Key Relationships:Internal: Finance & Accounting team, Business Unit Heads, Internal Audit Committee (if applicable), Senior Management.External: External auditors, regulatory bodies, consultants as needed.
