This role is for one of the Weekday's clientsMin Experience: 3 yearsLocation: AhmedabadJobType: full-timeWe are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Australian Tax Accountant to join our finance and accounting team. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in Australian taxation, demonstrate in-depth knowledge of compliance and reporting requirements, and provide high-quality advisory support to clients or internal stakeholders. This role requires a Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification and prior hands-on experience in Australian tax accounting, preferably in a public practice or corporate environment.RequirementsKey Responsibilities Tax Compliance & Reporting: Prepare and review income tax returns, BAS, FBT, GST, and payroll tax obligations for individuals, trusts, companies, and partnerships in accordance with Australian Taxation Office (ATO) regulations. Tax Advisory: Provide strategic tax advice to clients or management on issues including capital gains tax, international tax implications, structuring, and business planning to ensure optimal tax outcomes and compliance. Financial Statements: Prepare, review, and analyse financial statements in line with Australian Accounting Standards and ensure accuracy of tax provisions and deferred tax calculations. Client & Stakeholder Management: Liaise directly with clients, auditors, and government authorities to resolve tax-related queries and ensure smooth completion of engagements. Tax Planning: Identify tax-saving opportunities and implement effective tax planning strategies that align with regulatory frameworks and organisational goals. Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary tax documentation, reconciliations, and analytical reviews. Regulatory Updates: Stay updated on changes in Australian taxation laws, compliance requirements, and ATO rulings to proactively adapt strategies and maintain compliance. Process Improvement: Support continuous improvement initiatives by streamlining tax processes, implementing automation where feasible, and ensuring timely lodgement and accuracy of submissions. Required Skills & Qualifications Professional Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA) is mandatory. Experience: 3-10 years of relevant experience in Australian taxation—either in public practice, accounting firms, or corporate tax roles. Strong understanding of Australian taxation laws including Income Tax, GST, FBT, CGT, and Superannuation. Proficiency in tax and accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks, HandiTax, or similar). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple clients, deadlines, and projects independently while maintaining high attention to detail. Proven track record of ensuring compliance with ATO regulations and delivering accurate tax outcomes. Preferred Attributes Experience in working with cross-border tax matters or expatriate tax compliance. Strong interpersonal and client relationship management skills.
