The Australian Volunteers Program supports skilled Australian volunteers to work alongside organisations to sustainably build the capacity of people, organisations and communities in various countries across the Pacific, Asia and Africa.

The Global Risk and Security Officer will assist in the development and implementation of high, quality efficient systems, processes, documentation and services to ensure the health, safety, security and well-being of program participants on the Australian Volunteers Program. Position RequirementsKnowledge & SkillsPractical working knowledge of risk, safety, security and WHS concepts and methodologies, particularly within an international development context. Knowledge and experience working on a development assistance funded program, preferably a DFAT funded program. Demonstrated experience working effectively in a team environment and across numerous geographical and cross-cultural teams.

Ability to identify and contribute to business improvement opportunities related to risk, safety and security issues. Ability to analyse information, prepare reports, and present findings in a clear and professional manner. High level verbal and written communication skills which are culturally respectful. Demonstrated administration and organisational skills with the ability to plan and organise competing projects using highly developed time-management skills. Experience in facilitation of workshops. Strong interpersonal, networking, negotiation, and relationship management skillsQualificationsRelevant tertiary qualifications or significant demonstrated work experience in risk, safety, security, WHS contexts.
