We seek self-motivated applicants, who possess good communication skills and can work unsupervised, as well as part of a team. Undertake maintenance and repair work to the school buildings and grounds to ensure it is a safe environment for the school community. Click here to view the Position Profile. Key ResponsibilitiesUndertake repair/maintenance work as required to school buildings e. g. replacing locks, windows & light bulbs, patching holes, woodwork repairsPerform routine maintenance of equipmentEstimate repair costs and document repairs undertakenHandle, store, and distribute goods/materialsMove equipment/furniture as requiredUpkeep school grounds e. g.
mowing, pruning, weeding, planting, disposing of litterAssist with school improvements e. g. fencing, paving, gardening projectsDrive school vehicles as required for registration inspections, repairs and servicing. About The SchoolAspect South East Sydney School provides placement for approximately 180 students on the autism spectrum from ages 4 to 18 years of age. The School’s main sites are at Peakhurst, Marrickville & Loftus, and there are 9 satellite classes within Sydney Catholic Schools and Department of Education Schools across the South East Sydney region of Sydney. Experience in general maintenance of grounds/buildingsKnowledge of electrical, plumbing and general trade maintenanceUnderstanding of machinery/equipment operation relating to building maintenanceAbility to work unsupervised as well as part of a teamExcellent communication skillsTrade background is desirableOwn tools requiredCurrent driver’s licence and use of own vehicleCurrent NSW Working with Children Check for paid employment You may be required to provide an International Police Check clearance. Additional InformationWhat We OfferThe rate for this role is $31. 62 - $33. 77 per hour + superannuation depending on qualifications.
