Automation Engineer Location: Galway, IrelandContract Type: Permanent / Full-TimeSector: Medical Device Manufacturing / AutomationAbout the Role:A leading global medical device manufacturer is seeking an Automation Engineer to join a growing multi-disciplinary team. The role focuses on delivering automated equipment solutions from concept through to implementation, providing hands-on experience in high-tech automation projects.Key Responsibilities:Design, integrate, and commission machine control software (PLCs, robotics, motion, HMI, SCADA, vision).Develop, test, and support automated systems.Ensure equipment meets safety, regulatory, and client standards.Prepare and interpret design and validation documentation (URS, FDS, FAT).Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the project lifecycle.Experience & Skills:3+ years’ experience in equipment automation.PLC and HMI experience.Familiarity with robotics, motion control, machine vision, and pneumatics advantageous.Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamworking skills.What’s on Offer:Exposure to complex automation projects in a regulated environment.Hands-on role in a supportive engineering team.Competitive salary and benefits.
