Automation Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and driven Automation Engineer to join our team!In this role, you will be responsible for designing, programming, and testing automated machinery and processes to ensure the efficient and accurate execution of tasks. You will play a key role in modernizing our systems and driving continuous improvement in production automation.Key ResponsibilitiesResearching and implementing innovative automation solutionsDesigning and testing automated systems, equipment, and processesProgramming and configuring automated components and control systemsTroubleshooting issues, identifying defects, and improving process reliabilityWriting detailed reports on testing, errors, and process optimizationWorking closely with other departments to integrate automation with existing systemsSupporting the commissioning of new automation systemsEnsuring compliance with industry standards and company policiesRequirementsEducation:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation and Control, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering, preferably with a focus on manufacturing, engineering design, or industrial projects.Certifications & TrainingRelevant certifications or training in automation and control systems (e.g., Siemens, Honeywell, GE, etc.)Work Experience And KnowledgeHands-on experience in process control systems (PCS/SCADA/DCS), production planning, and manufacturing data systemsFamiliarity with metallurgical production processes is an advantageConsulting experience in industrial automation or control system integration is a plusComputer SkillsProficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)Experience with Visual Studio and other relevant engineering softwareKnowledge of specialized automation and control software systemsSpecial Skills And KnowledgeExperience in developing, implementing, and managing automation strategies across production unitsKnowledge of national standards and regulations in automation (e.g., SCADA/PCS compliance)Understanding of the technical specifications and operating principles of computing, communication, and network equipmentFamiliarity with formal programming languages, number systems, coding, and encryption methodsAbility to structure and algorithmize engineering tasks and processesKnowledge of electrical installation codes (e.g., PUE – Rules for Electrical Installation)Familiarity with technical operation and safety rules for electrical installations (PTE and PTB)Why Join Us?Work on innovative and high-impact automation projectsJoin a collaborative team with a forward-thinking engineering cultureOpportunities for ongoing training, development, and career growthCompetitive compensation and benefits packageFLSmidth is the leading supplier of engineering, equipment and service solutions to customers in the mining and minerals industries – for more information please visit FLSmidth.com/careers
