Role Description:A leading biotechnology manufacturing facility is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join its New Product Introduction (NPI) project team. The site operates highly automated systems supported by advanced pilot plants, laboratories, and equipment for developing processes used in the production of biological drug substances, including proteins.The Automation Engineer will report to the Automation Lead and will be a key member of the core Engineering Team, contributing to the delivery of major projects within a regulated, technology-driven environment.Key Responsibilities:Work as part of an experienced Automation NPI Project Team.Collaborate closely with Process SMEs, CQV Leads, and fellow Automation Engineers to understand and translate process requirements.Generate and compile key technical inputs into Functional Design Specifications (FDS) from all relevant stakeholders.Participate in and approve Functional Design elements as required.Implement Automation Change Packs (ACPs) and execute required code changes.Support internal project reviews with Automation teams and customer stakeholders as needed.Qualifications & Experience:Must-Have:Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field with substantial relevant experience.5+ years of experience as an Automation Engineer within the biotechnology industry, working in a regulated GMP environment.Proven experience delivering Emerson DeltaV solutions (S88 model) and/or strong expertise with PLC and SCADA systems, including system integration.Strong ability to collaborate with process engineers to define project scope and deliver high-quality specifications.Excellent documentation skills and strong attention to detail.Experience with automation compliance lifecycle and change management processes.Hands-on experience in commissioning process plant equipment.
