Who We AreBy joining our project, you will be working on an initiative of the European Commission focused on creating a more efficient, modern and secure customs environment within the European Union. Being part of this initiative set on a 5 years’ timeline, you will have the opportunity to work on topics such as digitalization of customs processes, streamlining customs procedures to facilitate trade and reduce costs, harmonization of customs rules across all EU member states and combating fraud.This purposeful project will not only give you the opportunity to have an impact on one of the key topics within the European Union, it will also offer you various professional opportunities, let you experience a collaborative environment, using cutting-edge technologies and experiencing diversity in your everyday professional life.What You'll Be DoingDeveloping and implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for Cloud automation and IT systems management solutionsAnalyzing customer requirements, creating technical specifications, writing program code, and documenting processesContinuously enhancing automation products, services, and standards to ensure best practicesDesigning and optimizing software architecture in collaboration with the architecture teamCreating and maintaining automation workflows for IT Assets and CMDB platformsPerforming automation, integration, and orchestration services using advanced technologiesDeveloping standards to support legacy and on-prem cloud designTesting and validating products before deploymentMonitoring system performance and troubleshooting technical issuesInvestigating automation opportunities to improve scalability and efficiencyProviding 24x7 support (on-call), including early/late shiftsStaying updated with new technologies and industry best practicesWhat You'll Bring AlongBachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred)Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar roleExtensive knowledge and experience with Ansible Platform 2.2 or other automation and orchestration platforms (Terraform, Apache Airflow, VTOM, Luigi, Argo)Proficiency in programming languages such as Yaml, Python, Java, JavaScript, and familiarity with additional technologies (Perl, Oracle, SQL/RDBMS, XML, JSON, RESTful APIs)Strong experience in Red Hat Enterprise LinuxIn-depth understanding of IT Operations, troubleshooting, and problem resolutionAbility to oversee development efforts and ensure high-quality outcomes while juggling prioritiesFamiliarity with metrics gathering, monitoring, and alerting activitiesKnowledge of ITIL functions and processesDemonstrated analytical, interpretative, and problem-solving skillsStrong presentation and interpersonal skillsSelf-motivated and a team player with a high degree of professionalismExcellent command of both spoken and written English (any other European language is a plus)
