Automotive Software Engineer

Position Title: Automotive Software Engineer - BSW (Basic Software)Duration: PermanentLocation: Gothenburg, Sweden***This role requires you to already be on sight with a work permit in Sweden.About the Role:You'd be joining Software team, which is a multi-national group working on embedded software for next-generation vehicles, including electric, hybrid, and advanced control systems.This role focuses on AUTOSAR Basic Software (BSW) development and integration - the low-level software layer that interfaces directly with vehicle hardware and provides core system services (communication, memory, diagnostics, etc.) for automotive ECUs.Key Responsibilities:You'd be involved in every stage of the AUTOSAR BSW development and integration process:* Configure and generate AUTOSAR Basic Software modules using tools like Vector DaVinci Configurator/Developer or EB tresos. Integrate these modules into the embedded software platform.* Collaborate with system engineers and software architects to align designs and ensure platform stability.* Work with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (Git, Gerrit, Jenkins, Docker).* Support Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) testing setups.* Debug using Vector tools and Lauterbach Trace32.* Analyze runtime performance, memory usage, and integration issues on real ECUs.* Follow Agile and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices to ensure efficient collaboration and traceability.Essential Qualifications* Bachelor's or Master's in Software, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering.* At least 3 years in embedded software development (bare-metal or RTOS- based). * Solid understanding of AUTOSAR concepts and workflows.* C programming expertise with clean, maintainable code style.* Knowledge of automotive communication protocols like CAN, LIN, SPI, Ethernet.* Experience with Complex Device Drivers (CDDs), memory management, and diagnostic stacks.* Strong written and spoken English.Bonus:* Knowledge of Functional Safety (ISO 26262) and ASPICE.* Experience with AUTOSAR Software Component Descriptions (SWCD).* Familiarity with C++.* Ability to speak Swedish.* Driver's license (B).
