About The RoleWe’re seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Autonomy team and contribute to the planning and control subsystems. In this role, you will design and implement core algorithms and infrastructure that allow autonomous systems to plan trajectories, react to complex environments, and execute smooth, precise motion under real-world constraints.If you're passionate about turning sensor data into actionable behavior, and want to push the frontier of autonomy in challenging domains, we’d love to hear from you.In this role, you will get toDesign and implement motion planning algorithms (e.g., trajectory generation, optimization-based planning, behavior trees) for autonomous decision-making in dynamic environments. Develop control systems for trajectory tracking, stability, and constraint handling across a wide range of operating conditions. Collaborate with perception, prediction, localization, and hardware teams to ensure planning and control pipelines are tightly integrated and robust to edge cases. Build simulation tools and test infrastructure to validate planning and control algorithms across a variety of scenarios. Analyze real-world performance and iterate on algorithms for safety, efficiency, and smoothness under uncertainty. Must Have ExperienceStrong proficiency in C++ and Python, with a track record of shipping high-performance code in robotics or real-time systems. Deep understanding of motion planning and control theory, including trajectory generation, kinematics/dynamics modeling, and optimization. Experience developing real-time planners (e.g., RRT, A*, MPC, spline-based planners) or controllers (e.g., PID, LQR, MPC) for physical systems. Familiarity with constraints such as latency, computational cost, vehicle dynamics, and safety-critical decision making. Proven ability to debug complex, system-level interactions between planning, control, and the real world. Strong collaboration skills and experience working cross-functionally with perception, systems, and hardware teams. Nice To Have ExperienceExperience with ROS/ROS2 and integration of planning/control components into a broader autonomy framework. Familiarity with nonholonomic systems, differential constraints, and actuation limits in practice. Knowledge of probabilistic planning, uncertainty-aware control, or learning-based planning methods. Exposure to simulation frameworks and real-time validation in hardware-in-the-loop environments. Contributions to open-source planning or control libraries in robotics or autonomous vehicles.
