The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).Position SummaryThe Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging (CLSA) is a national study of adult development and aging that has recruited more than 50,000 individuals across Canada. Information is being collected through in person interviews, telephone interviews, and physical assessments.For more information on the CLSA: www.clsa-elcv.caThe Montreal CLSA Data Collection Site is located at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI MUHC). Now in its 5th wave of data collection, the Montreal CLSA Site is recruiting an auxiliary nurse to conduct interviews and physical assessments with CLSA participants between the ages of 55 and 95. These participants were recruited between 2012 and 2015.General Duties Confirming and scheduling appointments, Welcoming and registering participants, Venipuncture to collect blood samples (ESSENTIAL), Performing tests to assess mobility, balance, grip strength, and cognitive function (training provided), Measuring weight, height, blood pressure, carotid aorta thickness, lung function, and ECG (training provided), DXA bone density scanning (training provided), Vision and hearing assessments (training provided), Operation and maintenance of equipment, Performing regular calibration and quality control of equipment, Complying with quality standards according to standard operating procedures (SOP) and applying practices required by the RI-MUHC for personal safety, safe use of equipment, protection of information, and proper disposal of all waste generated (including biological and reagent waste), Reagent and inventory control, data entry and record keeping, Performing other related duties requested by the immediate supervisor.Website of the organizationhttps://rimuhc.ca/enEducation / ExperienceEducation: Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS)Field of Study: Health, Assistance and Nursing CareWork Experience: Experience working with the public, evidence of previous experience drawing blood, experience in research an asset (training provided)Professional Membership: ☒ Yes ☐ NoIf yes, please specify: Member of the Order of Licensed Practical Nurses of QuebecRequired Skills Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices (GCP) an asset, Fluent in spoken French and English (ESSENTIAL), Positive attitude, Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision, Strong sense of organization, attention to detail, and ability to multitask, Highest standards of professionalism and respect for confidentiality.Additional informationStatus: Temporary, full time (35-hour workweek)Pay Scale: $44,408.00 - $82,427.80.
