About the role | Mō te tūranga: We are currently seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician for our General Laboratory. This is a casual position, and hours will vary each week. Responsibilities:
Accurately receipt, process, and store samples in compliance with established protocols. Effectively prioritise and organise tasks in line with standard laboratory procedures. Set up and operate laboratory equipment in accordance with approved methods and protocols. Demonstrate proficient use of the Laboratory Information System (LIS) for sample tracking and data entry. About you | He kōrero mōuTo be successful in this role you need to have: The ability to work in a methodical manner adhering to strict quality procedure guidelines.
Customer focus and commitment to providing a high quality of service to internal and external customers with effective interpersonal skills. A sound knowledge of medical terminology, and laboratory operations including safety, and hands-on practical experience is preferred. Registration with the Medical Science Council and an Annual Practicing Certificate as a Medical Laboratory Technician. Must be a team player with initiative, good interpersonal and communication skills and possess the ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment. Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
