They learn critical approaches to texts and issues that enable them to interpret and compare positions; to read closely, critically, and with empathy; to conduct research; to weigh evidence; and to write with insight and expertise.Position SummaryThe Creative Writing program is looking for qualified instructors to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in Fiction Writing, including: Wr 212 – Intro to Fiction Writing Wr 312 – Intermediate Fiction Writing Wr 407 – Seminar: Fiction Wr 412 – Advanced Fiction Writing Wr 507 – MFA Seminar: FictionMinimum QualificationsAll courses: MFA or PhD in Fiction.For 500-level courses: A distinguished record of publication, including at least one book of fiction; one year demonstrated excellence in teaching fiction writing.Preferred QualificationsFor 300 and 400-level courses: Two quarters of demonstrated successful teaching of college level fiction writing and significant publications in the genre.For 500-level courses: Experience teaching at the graduate level.Key Cultural Competencies Creates an environment that acknowledges, encourages and celebrates differences.
