Job Description

SummaryThe Transaction Services Specialist II is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of operations in the Transaction Services Department. Responsibilities include processing various deposit items to customers' accounts and ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled. This role will work closely with internal teams and external vendors to identify and resolve transaction discrepancies. This role must maintain a working knowledge of all deposit operations within the department to sustain the integrity of the department’s operational guidelines and communicate proper procedures to both internal and external customers.

The role also requires a strong foundation in bookkeeping principles. Specific Job FunctionsResponsible for the timely and accurate processing of any task related to check, ACH and GL processing. Ensure proper classification and reconciliation of transactions. Compare financial records from different sources to identify discrepancies. Utilize bookkeeping techniques to maintain accurate ledgers and journals. Investigate causes of discrepancies. Take action to resolve any outstanding issues that cause discrepancies. Must maintain a working knowledge of all deposit operations within the department to sustain the integrity of the department’s operational guidelines.

Communicate proper procedures and handle inquiries to both internal and external customers. Be alert and sensitive to fraud and possess knowledge of detecting and recognizing fraud and identity theft. Follow detailed department processes and procedures. Perform duties according to established Bank policy and procedures at all times. Perform other duties as assigned by Management. Aid in preparation of monthly reports. Perform reconciling internal accounts and General Leger accounts. Responsible for research and processing of legal documents such as reclamations, levies, garnishments, subpoenas, and search warrants. Minimum Job RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent is required.

Three (3) to five (5) years of banking experience is required. At least 2 years of experience in reconciliation-focused role is required. Remote employee must reside in Louisiana, Mississippi or Texas. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Prior experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles is highly desirable. Familiarity with bookkeeping software and general ledger systems is a plus. Must have experience in Microsoft excel. Must possess great written and oral communication skills. Must be organized, attentive to detail, and self-disciplined in order to work independently. Must be able to manage strict deadlines and time sensitive duties accurately and efficiently.

Be capable of trouble shooting and problem solving. Have an overall knowledge of all banking products. Have proficient computer skills for working with several software programs simultaneously. Superior ability to proof work for accuracy. Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled
