Insulation Mechanic

BAC Group is seeking a highly skilled and certified INSULATION MECHANIC to join our team.  The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing insulation on mechanical systems in commercial, industrial, and residential settings.  Must be a self-motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills.

  ResponsibilitiesPerform journeyman level work associated with insulating equipment, such as boilers, tanks, hot or cold air ducts or pipes, and heat exchangers, including the formation of split pump housings and weatherproof mastic finishes, and the removal and repair of defective insulating materials Furnish time and material take-offs of type and quantity of insulation material to be used on the job in accordance with Industry standards; monitor and inspect work operations and resultsMonitor work operations to assure compliance with prescribed specifications, quality standards, and schedule commitments; troubleshoot problems and perform any re-work modification or alternate application of insulation materialInitiate requisitions for materials and provide technical guidance and direction to Junior MechanicsPerform other related duties incidental to the work being carried out.

QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentMust have extensive knowledge of aluminum cladding layout, fabrication and insulationA minimum of 5 years’ experience in fabrication of insulation and aluminum claddingA minimum of 10 years’ experience working with Chilled Water, Hot Water and Steam SystemsMust produce Journeyman level Insulation and Cladding for Residential, Commercial, and Industrial projectsMust have a working knowledge of closed cell and fiberglass insulationAbility to communicate effectively. Experience with installation of fire stopping applications.
