BAC Group is seeking a licensed and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and development of electrical systems for commercial and residential buildings. This role requires a technically skilled, self-motivated professional who can work independently while mentoring junior staff and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate will bring a deep knowledge of electrical design, strong project experience, and a commitment to high standards. Experience with solar PV systems and ASHRAE energy audits is a plus.
Responsibilities• Lead the design of electrical building systems, including lighting, power distribution systems, emergency and standby power, fire alarm and life safety systems, communication and low-voltage systems, and sustainable technologies• Develop complete electrical design packages including drawings, specifications, load calculations, panel schedules, and power system studies• Ensure all work complies with applicable codes and standards (e. g.
, NEC, IEEE, IEC, and local authority regulations)• Review and provide QA/QC on electrical designs produced by junior staff and external consultants• Collaborate closely with mechanical and plumbing teams to deliver coordinated MEP systems• Respond to RFIs, review submittals, participate in project meetings, and provide construction-phase support• Conduct field visits for inspections, site coordination, and troubleshooting of electrical systems• Contribute to energy-efficient design solutions and support sustainability goals• Stay up to date with new technologies, standards, and industry best practices• Regular travel to local projects for inspections and coordination including occasional work in active construction environments, following safety protocols and using PPE as neededQualifications• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE, PEng, CEng, or equivalent) - required• Minimum of 6–8 years of experience in electrical design for commercial and residential buildings• Strong ability to work independently, manage design projects, and meet deadlines• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and electrical analysis software (e.
g. , SKM, ETAP, Dialux)• In-depth knowledge of electrical codes, design best practices, and documentation standards• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Experience reviewing and coordinating construction documents and specifications• Familiarity with BIM processes and interdisciplinary coordination• Experience with residential and commercial solar PV system design is a plus• Experience conducting or supporting ASHRAE Level 1 or 2 Energy Audits is a plus
