A Brief OverviewThe role of the Analytical Scientist would be to develop release/stability and in-process analytical methods for all peptide drug substances/finish products and raw materials across Bachem sites. The Analytical Scientist will also support the method validation and transfer of such methods to nternal external testing laboratories. What You Will DoDevelop analytical methods for the QC department for testing of in-process, raw material, and peptides. Analytical methodologies may include but not limited to MS, HPLC, UPLC, SEC, GC-MS, LC-MS, KF, etc. Conduct method validation/analytical transfer of analytical methods between Bachem sites and external testing sites.
Activities will include conducting feasibility studies and method validations, generation of protocols and reports in support of such activities. Write and work with other QC Staff in the creation and approval of control documents such as specifications, SOPs, STMs, etc.
Implement and maintain GMP procedures such as following SOP’s, Standard Testing Procedures (STP’s), written procedure and maintaining proper documentation as necessary for Quality ControlFollow safety guidelines for handling, disposal and use of toxic and/or large volumes of chemicalsQualificationsBachelor's degree in chemistry or related field with 6 years of relevant experienceAbility to work with hazardous materials and chemicalsAbility to perform as an independent scientist in analytical methodology with limited supervisionAbility to take the technical lead working with other scientistsExcellent written and oral communication skillsBasic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPointAbility to effectively organize, multitask, and work in a fast-paced, deadline driven work environmentAbility to communicate in a proactive and solution-focused manner, including keeping management aware of potential issuesDetail oriented with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problemsAbility to work independently and manage one’s timeCommunicate effectively and ability to function well in a team environmentFlexibility of working hours based on business needs, may include some nights and occasional weekendsBase salary range:
Scientist I: $84,196 - $115,769Scientist II: $94. 320 - $129,690Sr. Scientist: $106,320 - $146,190Placement of new hires in these wage ranges is based on several factors including education, skill sets, experience, and training.
