Job Description

We’re working with a high-growth, international business at the forefront of sports and entertainment, now expanding rapidly in the UK. They are seeking a Head of Finance to take ownership of the day-to-day financial operations while shaping the function as the business scales. This is a high-impact role with significant visibility across the business, offering the opportunity to influence strategic direction and help build the financial infrastructure from the ground up. The Head of Finance will lead all core financial operations, including payroll, invoicing, banking, and cash flow management.

You’ll be responsible for producing accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, maintaining compliance with relevant financial regulations, and managing relationships with external stakeholders such as auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners. You'll also play a key role in developing and refining internal policies and controls, ensuring robust governance and operational efficiency. You’ll work closely with senior leadership and department heads to provide actionable financial insights that support commercial decision-making and broader growth objectives. As the business scales, you’ll be expected to identify and implement process improvements, enhance financial systems, and drive cost efficiencies.

This is a varied and hands-on role that would suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. We’re looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with experience in a Financial Controller or similar position, ideally within a startup or scale-up. You should have a strong grasp of financial regulations and accounting standards, be highly analytical, and confident managing multiple stakeholders. A proactive mindset, strong communication skills, and an interest in the sports and entertainment industry are all key. Experience with modern finance systems and tools is also essential.

The role offers a base salary of £70,000–£80,000 plus benefits, and a short notice period or immediate availability would be highly advantageous.
