Job Overview: The Banking and Financial Institutions Research Analyst is responsible for conducting in depth research and analysis on the banking sector, financial institutions, and macroeconomic trends. The role supports the bank s strategic decision making by providing key insights, market intelligence, and financial evaluations. The analyst will work closely with senior researchers and cross functional teams to assess risks, opportunities, and competitive positioning within the financial industry. Key Responsibilities: Market and Competitive Analysis: Conduct research on banking industry trends, macroeconomic developments, and financial institutions. Assist in benchmarking the bank s performance against competitors and identifying key market dynamics.
Monitor regulatory changes and assess their potential impact on the banking sector. Strategic and Financial Analysis: Support strategy development by gathering data, conducting financial analysis, and preparing research reports. Assist in evaluating investment opportunities, new product feasibility, and operational efficiencies. Conduct scenario analysis and forecasting to support decision making processes. Stakeholder Engagement and Reporting: Prepare reports, presentations, and white papers for internal stakeholders and senior management. Work closely with internal teams to support data driven decision making. Engage with regulators, industry bodies, and financial institutions for market insights and research collaboration. Requirements:
EducationBachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field (Master s degreepreferred). Additional certifications such as CFA, FRM, or sector specific courses are an advantage but notrequired. Experience2-5 years of experience in banking research, financial analysis, strategy, or a related function within a financial institution. SkillsStrong understanding of banking regulations, financial modeling, risk assessment, and macroeconomic trends. Ability to analyze complex data, extract key insights, and present findings clearly. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and data visualization tools.
