About the RoleThe Procurement Manager will support the execution of our Group Procurement strategy as we transition to a centralised procurement function. This role will lead strategic sourcing and procurement initiatives for Direct Material categories, supporting over $600M in annual spend. This includes delivering on value, innovation, cost reduction, and sustainability outcomes by leading end-to-end sourcing processes, Supporting category strategy, supplier relationship management, and contract implementation.
Key responsibilities include: Execute full lifecycle sourcing: market and product assessment, RFX, commercial negotiations, risk mitigation and contract execution. Drive value through a Total Cost Ownership focused approach, employing tools like cost analysis and e-auctions to optimise procurement outcomes. Supporting the implementation of new contracts and change of supplier if required, ensuring efficient management of change and in particular effective handover to and understanding of contract terms. Manage key stakeholder relationships across multiple business units to ensure alignment and performance delivery.
Foster strategic supplier relationships and lead supplier governance, performance tracking, and communicationSupport the implementation and onboarding of new suppliers and contracts, including front-line awareness of commercial terms. Monitor and report procurement initiative outcomes, risks, and opportunities. Collaborate with ESG and Legal teams to ensure procurement supports Bapcor’s sustainability goals and risk standards. Support the development and implementation of category strategies aligned with business plans and objectives. A relevant bachelor’s degree qualifications, preferably in Procurement / Supply Chain, Legal, Finance or Business. Minimum 7 year’s experience in procurement with responsibility and quantifiable results in Direct Material Procurement within a medium to large organisationDeep value chain management knowledgeStrong business acumen with demonstrated success in major negotiations and strategic sourcing. Expertise in stakeholder management and supplier relationship developmentRobust skills in Microsoft office software, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Procurement Tech solutions. Demonstrated understanding of Australian contract law as it relates to the purchase and supply or goods and services.
