The New Porgera Limited now has a vacancy for a qualified and experienced individual as Trade Assistant – Electrical Plant Site About The RoleReporting to the Foreman – Electrical Plant Site, you will be responsible for controlling the physical flow of parts into and out of the workshop. In This Role, You WillCoordinate workshop activities including scheduling repairs, maintenance, and inspections. Manage parts inventory, including ordering, receiving, and organizing parts.

Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of parts and materials. Assist tradespeople with locating and obtaining necessary parts and equipment. Maintain accurate records of parts inventory, usage, and orders. Monitor workshop efficiency and suggest improvements to streamline operations.

Maintain a clean and safe work environmentDisposal of waste materials in compliance with site standardsFollow all safety procedures and protocols while always working and adhere to company policies and regulationsParticipate in training programs and skill development initiatives to enhance technical knowledge and proficiencyMaintain a high level of health, safety and environmental awareness and comply with NPL Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Policy and all related rules and proceduresAbout YouTo succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experiences:

Minimum of Grade 10 or above educational levelAble to read and write English at an Upper Secondary School StandardGood verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary team in both English and/or Tok Pisin.

Formal training and experience in workshop parts handling is highly desiredTrade qualifications highly desiredPrevious participation in Job Ready or Trade Training Programs highly desirableMechanical aptitude and a willingness to learnWillingness to adhere to safety regulations and protocolsAbility to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from Supervisors and Technicians Physically fit and able to work in different weather conditionsMobilization Requirement All Applicants must have an up-to-date police clearance Certificate, Acquired within the last 6 monthsAbility to successfully pass a pre- employment medical and drug and alcohol testBe a Local Porgeran (Cat 1A – SML, Cat 1B –LMP or Cat 2 – Other Porgera) Candidate and available to start immediately The Roster is 20 days on and 8 days offFemales are encouraged to apply.
