Base Operations Manager (Kununurra)

Who are we looking for?We’re looking for Base Operations Manager to coordinate and lead the daily operations of our Kununurra base. If you’re passionate about aviation safety, operational excellence, and leading high-performing teams, this is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact in regional aviation and progress your management career.Your RoleIn this role, your key responsibilities will include:Oversee and lead daily operations at the Kununurra base, ensuring safe, compliant, and reliable air transport services.Coordinate with key departments to maintain smooth daily operations.Lead daily briefings, manage tasking, handle disruptions, and maintain decision logs.Resolve customer and client issues while fostering strong relationships with airports, vendors, and stakeholders.Monitor base performance, investigate delays, and prepare monthly operational reports.Ensure accurate manifests, baggage handling, and freight coordination with OCC and flight crew.Manage rosters, annual leave, and recruitment of new team members.Coordinate with Engineering and CAMO to maintain fleet readiness and aircraft utilisation.Ensure full compliance with CASA regulations and company procedures.Champion safety culture, SMS participation, and timely reporting of occurrences.Prepare for internal/external audits and implement corrective actions as requiredThe Essential RequirementsRelevant tertiary qualification or 2+ years of aviation industry experience.Proven leadership experience in airline or charter operations (Part 135 preferred).Strong financial, analytical, and communication skills.Ability to obtain and maintain an ASIC.Flexible and able to work weekends and public holidays.What’s in it for you?At Sigma, our people are at the heart of what we do.
