To further develop and grow this ambition we are looking for a Product Development Crop Lead (Tomato Fresh & Tomato Bush) – EMEA Strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and strategic planning skills are essential.Your JobThe Product Development (PD) Crop Lead is accountable for overseeing all product development processes related to designated crops. This role requires close collaboration with the Regional Crop Lead (Marketing) and the breeding team to effectively manage the development of the pipeline.In partnership with Global Crop Managers, the Crop Lead integrates product development elements into the overarching crop strategy, ensuring successful implementation throughout the regions. The position also involves supporting in the construction of Crop Marketing Plans (CMPs).Additionally, the PD Crop Lead establishes connections with peers in other regions to facilitate knowledge exchange, enhancing pipeline efficiency and increasing the success rate of product spin-offs and market extensions.This role functionally guides a team of PD Specialists to ensure their efforts align with the crop strategy and the 3-year crop marketing plans, consolidates inputs from those PD Specialists across various countries to create a cohesive regional vision which is reflected in the PD activities.The PD Crop Lead is also responsible for driving product development initiatives to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to crop vitality and successful product introductions among others.Main AccountabilitiesOversees PD initiatives for designated crops and the Regional Trial PlansMonitors progress and implements crop strategies to achieve KPI’s for respective cropsCoordinates elevation meetings and secures data driven approach to make decisions regarding elevations to Trial 1 and Trial 2 stages and consolidates all proposals for elevation to intro stageCompletes all relevant follow-up actions i.e. trial seed production & movementConsolidates inputs from PD Specialists across countries to inform company-wide processes from a PD dimension, including Hybrid Profile updates, Product Management Reviews (PMR), Fabbing, planform exercises, Crop Marketing Plans (CMP), Variety Profiles, Global Trial Flow updates, Variety Deployment maps, PD bio-material management in digital platforms etcCompiles inputs to align and guide the breeding team’s efforts, ensuring that breeding initiatives are tailored to meet market demands and support overall objectives.In collaboration with the breeding team and the Regional Crop Lead (RCL), acts to meet deliverablesAligns with global peers to enhance pipeline optimization and support market extension and spin-off opportunitiesEstablishes a structured framework for PD activities within the crop domain, functionally leading PD Specialists across the regions for the specific crop(s)Collaborates with Global Crop Managers (GCMs) to ensure the integration of PD components into the overarching crop strategySteers multidisciplinary teams by sponsoring projects throughout the value chain, fostering innovation and driving overall project successYour ProfileBSc in Agriculture related field with 15 years of relevant experience or Msc with 12 years of applicable experience or 20 + years of experience in a related fieldExperience in leading and coordination of a team of product development professionalsCapability to oversee and coordinate the entire product development processExperience in structured framework establishment to guide PD activitiesStrong communication and presentation skills in English.
