General Manager - Demand PlanningJob Description / ResponsibilityLead the end-to-end demand planning process by developing robust forecasting models tailored for textile and garment products. Analyze sales orders, market trends, and historical data to accurately predict demand fluctuations and business needs. Collaborate with merchandising, production, procurement, and sales teams to align forecasts with operational capabilities and business plans. Manage inventory policies to balance customer service targets while ensuring optimal stock turnover and minimal excess inventory.
Utilize ERP and demand planning tools for scenario planning, demand sensing, and forecast adjustments. Facilitate regular demand review meetings, communicating updates and forecast changes to stakeholders. Identify risks and opportunities within the demand forecasting process and propose mitigation strategies. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in forecasting accuracy through advanced analytics, machine learning, or other relevant technologies. Mentor and lead the demand planning team, fostering a culture of accuracy, ownership, and continuous learning. Ensure compliance with buyer-specific forecasting requirements and textile industry standards.
Educational RequirementsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Production Planning, Business Administration, Textile Engineering, or a related field. Certifications in supply chain, demand planning, or related areas (e. g. , CPIM, CSCP). Additional RequirementsMinimum 13 years of hands-on experience in demand planning or forecasting, preferably in the textile and RMG industry of Bangladesh; 3-5 years in a leadership role. Expertise in forecasting methodologies, data analytics, and demand planning software tools (Excel, ERP, advanced forecasting tools). Deep understanding of textile manufacturing processes, supply chain dynamics, and sales cycles. Strong analytical capabilities with proficiency in interpreting complex data sets.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive alignment on forecasts and plans. Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
