Job Description

Position Summary This position will report to the Site Operations Manager and will lead and oversee all health, safety, and environment oversite activities for all the camp, logistics and drilling activities. Ensure efficient and effective management of environmental compliance, health, and safety protocols and embedding a positive safety culture.   Key Responsibilities   Health and Safety:

 Apply regulatory requirements to provide guidance and recommendations to project management; participate in monitoring and controlling HSE standards, and design and review a project plan to confirm compliance with all governmental laws and regulations and Company requirements Develop, implement and manage H&S activities on site Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with project objectives and guidelines Accountable for ensuring Health and Safety execution plans are developed and implemented in support of annual deliverables Ensure compliance with WorkSafe BC regulations and the BC Mines Act Embed a culture of continuous improvement and champion a safe and healthy work culture Conduct regular safety performance reviews and assessments to ensure that facility standards and project sites follow governmental regulations Maintain and support emergency preparedness program that has strong connection to identify project risks to mitigate impacts Communicate effectively with projects and all levels of management to support and participate in the development of effective safety, occupational health, and training programs Implement and manage Alcohol and Drug Program, Injury/Illness Management Program, and incident investigation reporting.

 Manage tracking and reporting of leading and lagging indicators, summary reporting, performance measurements, and results Develop annual and long-range safety, health, and training goals, objectives, action plans, and the supporting budget Other duties as assigned  Environment:  Support client to ensure on the ground compliance with permitting requirements, and specifically drilling activities remain in regulatory compliance and Environment team on permit documents.  Direct site environmental consultants and staff with technical direction from Environment team, environmental monitoring and compliance, and effectively communicate with onsite contractors regarding Seabridge Gold’s environmental practices in support of exploration programs.

 Oversee and coordinate response to environmental accidents and incidents. Perform environmental inspections both at the camps and drill sites as needed, with associated reporting Foster strong relationships with Indigenous Partners and local communities working on site, upholding Seabridge's commitment to social responsibility.   Education, Skills and Experience University degree or post-secondary diploma in Occupational health, safety and environmental field is preferred.

 Minimum of 5 years proven experience in occupational and/or process safety Expertise with provincial legislation, a strong working knowledge of industry best practices and demonstrated experience with implementing health, safety and security systems and practices Thorough knowledge of all applicable Federal and Provincial legislation regarding Occupational Health and Safety plus any other relevant laws and regulations.

 Proven ability for problem-solving and achieving sustainable results Proficient computer literacy, oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills Ability to use data analytics to continuously improve safety performance Outstanding influencing skills, proven ability to relate well to other people in a wide range of contexts and levels; as well as working collaboratively with Indigenous Partners Proven ability to build positive relationships with key stakeholders Demonstrated capacity to execute plans and hold self and others accountable for performance and deliverables  Schedule The role is fly-in/fly-out, working on a regular rotational schedule of 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off.
