The Bell person is responsible offloading and taking guests’ luggage to the room and again loading it upon departure should it be required.The Bell Person performs the work of in-house logistics and transportation according to the policies, processes and standards as defined and befitting a luxury Hotel. The role works with the Concierge and Front Office teams to ensure that transportation services are always delivered on time and to the standards defined and expected by The Front Office Department.Bell Person duties also include; stocking the mini bars, maintaining inventory, organizing orders, and billing guests. The individual may also be required to assist other departments during quieter times with duties.Primary ResponsibilitiesGeneral ResponsibilitiesOffload and load guest luggageComplete Luggage sheet for luggage kept by the hotel for guestsTakes charge of vehicle packing procedure ensuring the correct safety procedures are followed for weight and balance, and for the protection of the equipment and goods being transportedHandle all equipment, tools and machinery with care and respectNote any special requests by departments requesting transportationRespond promptly to all service requests.Ensure that vehicles and equipment are professionally maintained, kept clean and tidy throughout the service periodReport any accident, or damage to vehicles and equipment immediately.Customer Specific ResponsibilitiesEnsure that all requests for logistical support are dealt with promptly, correctly, and with a professional service approach, every timeEnsure that the ‘Rooming’ procedure is accurately carried out when introducing guests to their roomsEnsure that all transport and logistics duties are performed and completed with minimal interruption and inconvenience to guests, and the service operationWhen driving in and outside of the Hotel premises, take care to adhere to the traffic rulesIf spoken to acknowledge guests using the appropriate levels of discretion and the correct forms of addressAlways report back to the department being served, that the work has been completed, and report back to the Head Concierge & Concierge Supervisor once every job is completeAlways display a polite and gracious mannerQualificationsKnowledge and ExperienceCompleted Grade 12 educationValid driver’s licenceAbility to effectively communicate with others in EnglishMinimum of 2 years of experience in a similar or customer-related roleCompetence in operating different types of passenger vehiclesAbility to provide logistics and transportation service in a highly formal environmentDedicated to achieving high standards by working with othersAbility to work effectively and safely when under pressure and when placed with demandsAdditional InformationWhat Awaits You...The opportunity to join an international and innovative and fast-growing group.The ability to challenge the norm and work in an environment that is both creative and rewarding.Be part of a team that is very passionate about creating great hospitality experiences and exploring new locations with every opportunity.A competitive package and plenty of development opportunities.
